As an Abuse and Fraud Analyst, you'll:

  • Identify, analyze, and investigate potential bot activities, spamming, scraping, and other abusive behaviors on the platform.
  • Label and categorize bot traffic and fraudulent accounts for further analysis.
  • Write SQL queries to extract, analyze, and interpret data related to abuse and fraud patterns.
  • Create comprehensive reports to inform the team and leadership about emerging threats, trends, and resolutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to prevent abuse and fraud.
  • Support the creation of automated tools and systems for fraud detection and mitigation.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving fraud detection policies and protocols.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving platform security based on your findings.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in abuse/fraud analysis, bot detection, or a related field
  • Intermediate proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with concepts related to bot traffic, fake account detection, and online fraud
  • Ability to create clear, actionable reports and documentation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the technology or social media industry
  • Familiarity with tools and systems for fraud detection and prevention
  • Basic understanding of web scraping techniques and prevention
  • Knowledge of growth fraud mechanisms and countermeasures
  • Experience with labeling and annotating data for machine learning models
  • Passion for safeguarding platforms against abuse and improving user experiences
