As an Accountant 1, you will learn how to complete a wide-range of fiscal assignments in support of the Monroe County Children and Youth Office. Some specific duties involve recording daily expenditures and income in the agency data base (CAPS) and checking general ledger account numbers, vendor numbers, and totals before processing invoices for payment. You will record journal transfers and verify completion, reconcile with the county general ledger, and allocate quarterly expenses to appropriate quarterly reports.
This professional is also responsible for accounting for expenses, program receipts, placements, IV-E eligibilities, salaries and benefits, journal transfers, contract per diems, and other income to be used in the computing of quarterly invoices. You may assist in completing required CYS reports. Attendance at trainings and conferences as well as participation in cross training with other personnel is essential.
