Wilkes University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychology to begin August 2025. We seek a candidate whose area of expertise will add to the existing strengths of our faculty. Preference will be given to individuals with a focus in the area of clinical/counseling psychology, or an applied area of psychology including I/O, cultural psychology, or community psychology. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in their specialty area, as well as courses that support our capstone sequence (e.g., Statistics, Senior Capstone, Introductory Psychology). The typical teaching load is 21 credits over two semesters (3-4 load).

The Department of Psychology consists of six-full-time faculty who are student and teaching focused. We seek a candidate who demonstrates a commitment to undergraduate learning and can provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarly productivity. The new faculty member will be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduate students, advise undergraduate students, and perform university and professional service. Wilkes University and our department both highly value mentoring and preference will be given to candidates who embrace this core value. A Ph.D. in psychology at the time of appointment is required. ABDs will be considered if degree completion will occur by August 2025.

Psychology is the largest major within the College of Arts and Sciences and is one of the most popular majors at Wilkes University. We also have an active Psychology Club and chapter of Psi Chi. We highly value student-faculty research, and faculty regularly present with undergraduate student co-authors at regional and national conferences.
