The Department of Microbiology and Immunology in association with the Center for Immunology, and the Center for Antimicrobial Resistance at Cornell University invite applications from scientists who work at the cutting-edge of immunology, virology, bacteriology and/or parasitology to inform the next generation of preventions and therapeutics. We are currently recruiting for multiple Tenure-track positions at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels. We are seeking investigators who use innovative cross-disciplinary approaches to uncover fundamental principles of immunology and/or microbial pathogenesis, including but not limited to innate or adaptive immunity, host-microbe interactions, mucosal immunity, tumor immunology, neuro-immunology, autoimmunity, antimicrobial resistance, and vaccines. Candidates using genomic and imaging approaches to obtain deeper insights into human and animal health and disease are particularly encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates will join a highly interactive and rapidly growing group of faculty within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, located in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Research strengths in the Department include host-microbe interactions, innate immunity, T and B cell development and effector function, novel vaccine design, immunodiagnostics, and immune-engineering. Cornell University offers exceptional technical resources in many areas, with state-of-the-art core facilities, including genomics, proteomics and metabolomics, flow cytometry, multiphoton microscopy, in vitro BSL3, and animal BSL3 facilities. Cornell maintains a strong commitment to interdisciplinary studies spanning multiple departments and sustains many integrative cross campus initiatives between Cornell University and Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.

Located in Ithaca NY, the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York State, Cornell University is a center for discovery, academic leadership and service. We seek exceptional scientists to contribute to our climate of collegiality, academic excellence and diversity, as well as our strong commitment to teaching and mentoring, which enhances our efforts to build and maintain a diverse research community. Applicants must have a Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M., or equivalent advanced degree, an outstanding record of research productivity and the ability to develop and sustain a creative independent research program. This position is a full-time 12-month appointment with a salary range of $130,000 to $200,000 and will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

In addition, we ask applicants for all faculty positions to share their experiences and/or approaches (past, current, or future) to fostering learning, research service, and/or outreach in a diverse community.
