Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of a Business Taxes Administrator II, the Associate Property Appraiser in the Assessment Practices Survey Section, serves as a member of a survey team that reviews the assessment practices and procedures of County Assessors’ offices for compliance with property tax laws and rules. The incumbent focuses on issues involving the taxation of real property. The incumbent conducts real property review appraisals as part of an assessment sampling program.

Working Conditions

• Telework is available fifty percent (50%) of the time.
• Standard office environment. (for example, artificial lighting, controlled temperature, etc.)
• Must be able to move/transport materials weighing up to forty (40 lbs.) pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Travel required fifty percent (50%) of the time.
• Position requires employee to have and maintain a valid: California Driver’s License.
• Maintain a State Board of Equalization (BOE) appraiser certification including continuing education.
• Travel may be required throughout the state up to fifty percent (50%) of the time by automobile and airplane; travel will typically be Monday through Friday and may span several contiguous weeks.
