Section 1: Overview and Purpose of Position
Grants Manager is part of the fundraising team managing the grant process to work effectively and efficiently. They will perform grant research, grant writing, grant program design and implementation, compliance and grant reporting. JVS Grants Manager will provide clear communication of rules and regulations for approving grants, its specifications, requirements and objectives across all departments of the organization and the management.
Section 2: Qualifications (skills, education, experience)
B.A. or equivalent experience and at least 3-5 years working in the field of nonprofit management required. Experience with grants and strong writing skills required. Experience with federal funding preferred.
Section 3: Responsibilities/Duties
Manage and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process: o Manage existing grants by tracking proposal and reporting deadlines, maintaining grant files, prepare/share grant correspondence
Coordinate submission of proposals and reports in collaboration with program staff, including narrative, budgets and any supporting documentation
Coordinate and establish Grant Donor Profiles and establish next step proposals for relationship
Take lead role in writing proposals and reports, managing and coordinating program staff, including managers, directors, and assistant executive director
Identify new grant opportunities, develop/foster relationships with foundations/other funders, track submission deadlines
Management of donor database regarding grant communications
Provide training to staff as needed on grants management and reporting requirements
Supports financial reporting in coordination with Finance team
Attends professional development training and stays abreast of the Office of Management and Budget Circulars and their applicability to grants management related to A-133 audit.
Maintains documentation as required by funders or other stakeholders.
Perform other duties as may be required by supervisor

Section 5: Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Position requires some flexibility in schedule, with some weekends and/or evenings required.
Occasional travel to community events, public service providers, and other service locations will be necessary. Use of personal vehicle is necessary with mileage reimbursement.
Much of the work is typically performed in an interior temperature-controlled office work environment. Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Use of cell phone is also required with partial reimbursement by agency.
Moderate lifting of up to 25 pounds.
