This position provides support to the Splits, Plats, and Combinations of Real Property processes of the Sedgwick County Appraiser’s Office. Assists with the legal research of all sales of real property in Sedgwick County in a clear, consistent, and professional manner. This is accomplished through properly applied mass appraisal techniques in accordance with the State of Kansas Statutes and the Kansas Department of Revenue, Division of Property Valuation (PVD), directives and guidelines, office policies and procedures, and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of real estate document management, customer service in a real estate office, appraisal experience, or data management or analysis – OR – One year mass appraisal experience in administrative support in the Sedgwick County Appraiser’s Office. Must successfully pass the following courses within three years of hire date: International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) Course 101 - Fundamentals of Real Property Appraisal, IAAO Course 102 – Income Approach to Valuation, Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), Kansas Property Tax Law, Orion Introduction and Overview of Basic Functionality
Preferred Qualifications: Three years’ experience in mass appraisal. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science or Real Estate. Have one or more of the following professional designations: Registered Mass Appraiser (RMA), Certified Assessment Evaluator (CAE), Residential Evaluation Specialist (RES), Mass Appraisal Specialist (MAS), or Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS).
