We are seeking a part-time Local Success Coach (LSC) to work remotely. This role is perfect for anyone interested in cultural exchange, child care, and child development. You will support Host Families and Au Pairs in your area, building strong relationships with local families and international young adults.
Employment Type:

This part-time position has the potential to become full-time as the number of families and Au Pairs you represent grows. You will have the flexibility to make your own schedule while adhering to the timely requirements of Au Pair program regulations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, sales-driven, and professional with strong interpersonal and counseling skills.
Compensation:
Your compensation is tiered based on the total number of active families in your service area. Currently, the San Mateo, CA area has 3 active families.
- **For 3 active families:** Approximately 1.4 hours per week or 74 hours per full year. Estimated yearly compensation: up to $4,500.
- **For 11 active families:** Approximately 3.0 hours per week and 161 hours per full year. Estimated yearly compensation: $9,300.
As an independent contractor, you will be paid monthly for the deliverables submitted for the prior month. The compensation range listed is an estimated yearly figure based on the current number of clients in your area. The hourly rate equivalent is approximately $60, but this figure can fluctuate based on client changes during the year.
Responsibilities Include:

We value fun, enjoyment, and growth for both our participants and our community. As an LSC, you will interact directly with participants and play a vital role in educating, communicating, and supporting families and Au Pairs.
Your primary duties include:
- Providing information and supporting families during the matching process.
- Explaining regulations, policies, and rules to Host Families and Au Pairs.
- Conducting in-home family interviews/site visits to ensure families understand the program regulations and can host an Au Pair.
- Conducting in-home orientations upon the arrival of a new Au Pair.
- Conducting monthly phone and in-person communications with families and Au Pairs.
- Organizing frequent in-person cultural events in the local area for Au Pairs.
- Working with headquarters staff to support families and Au Pairs.
- Developing personal relationships with families and Au Pairs and maintaining high-quality communication.
- Executing marketing initiatives coordinated with headquarters.
- Assisting during crisis and conflict situations quickly and professionally.
- Supporting families and Au Pairs with conflict resolution and issue management.

Training and On-boarding:
To become knowledgeable about the Au Pair Program and perform your LSC tasks, you will need about a year's worth of experience. This time frame typically covers a family's placement with an Au Pair, providing you with the full experience of supporting both parties from start to finish.
Your training is separated into two major groupings:
1. **First Two Months:** New hire training and on-boarding to learn about the Au Pair program, rules, regulations, and how to perform ongoing LSC tasks. This paid training is approximately 4 hours per week and includes reading, watching videos, self-exercises, and meeting with training personnel. During the first month, you will focus on completing the training while your training mentor provides support and service to your area.
2. **10-Week Program (6 months after starting):** This training focuses on the matching process and helping families find the right Au Pair. This paid training is approximately 3.5 hours per week and includes reading, self-exercises, and meeting with training personnel.

Our Au Pair Agency is one of the original agencies designated by the U.S. Department of State. The International Au Pair Association (IAPA) has awarded three of our Au Pairs the IAPA Au Pair of the Year award, most recently in 2022.
The Au Pair Program was established in 1989 by the Department of State to increase cultural exchange and international relations. An Au Pair is a young adult from around the world who comes to the United States to live in a family's home for a cultural experience and then returns home. The Au Pair provides 45 hours of child care each week in exchange for room and board and a small stipend.
