Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from patients through venipuncture and capillary punctures.
• Ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate concerns and provide information about the procedure.
• Follow protocols for infection control and safety guidelines during blood collection.
• Monitor patients' vital signs during and after the procedure to ensure their safety.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all procedures performed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with specialized training in phlebotomy required.
• Certification as a phlebotomist from a recognized agency preferred.
• Proven experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients professionally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures an asset.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
