Summary:
Responsible for conducting safe and efficient Part 91 aircraft operations in support of corporate goals and objectives. The safety of passengers, crew and the aircraft are of paramount concern.
The pilot will be flying a Pilatus PC-12 NG aircraft and a Bell Helicopter 429. The PC-12 is a single-engine turboprop passenger and cargo aircraft; the BH-429 is a twin-engine turbine helicopter. Prior experience flying this specific aircraft make and model is not necessary but is desired. The plane and helicopter will be generally operated by a single pilot so candidates should be experienced in single pilot operations. The general flight profiles include transporting Teledyne FLIR personnel from site to site, conducting engineering test flights with engineering personnel to test the use of infrared and electro-optical equipment and products, and demonstration flights to prospective customers worldwide.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR’s), Company policies, ICAO Rules of Flight, Aircraft Flight Manual, Operations Manual and aircraft limitations.
Employ aircrew coordination and leadership to ensure mission accomplishment in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsible for the security of aircraft and passengers while under his/her command.
Responsible for the safe and efficient adherence to flight schedules.
Perform single pilot operations or when flying as a crew, perform the duties of Pilot Flying (PF) while in control of the aircraft and Pilot Not Flying (PNF) at all other times. Maintain an operational knowledge of the Operations Manual, Aircraft Flight Manual, Minimum Equipment List, Aeronautical Information Manual, FARs and ICAO regulations.
Manage Flight Department SMS program and facilitate the safety program’s aviation element while coordinating with other company entities.
Accurate and timely completion of all required flight records.
Maintain his/her personal flight qualifications, currency and medical certificate.
Preparation and submission of post-accident/incident reports.
Oversee all operational flight planning and maintenance of their assigned aircraft.
Interact with prospective customers in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. citizen with a U.S. Passport for International travel.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active Security Clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance eligibility. Applicants with an active security clearance preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Prior military or law enforcement experience in operation of EO/IR sensors is desired in FW or RW aircraft preferred.
FW minimum 2000 hours as Pilot-in-Command, with 750 hours in turbine aircraft.
RW minimum 2000 hours as Pilot-in-Command, with 1000 hours turbine helicopters. Also 500 hours twin turbine RW preferred.
200 hours of actual instrument, 400 hours of nighttime. NVG experience is desired.
Valid FAA Commercial SEL, Instrument (Airplane).
Valid FAA Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter, Instrument (Helicopter).
Valid FAA Second Class Medical and ability to attain a First Class Medical, if required.
The Chief Pilot may waive these requirements based on demonstrated proficiency.
Travel Requirements:
There is significant travel associated with this position. The pilot should plan on traveling approximately 50% of the time. Most travel is Monday-Friday, however during demonstration trips and our international trips, working weekends will be required. There could be up to two international trips a year each lasting four to five weeks in duration.
The position is based at our company facility in Wilsonville and the aircraft are located at our company hangar. When not conducting flight operations, the pilot will work onsite in Wilsonville to complete flight logs, other flight support related activities, as well as other assigned tasks.
