About the role:
The Purchaser is responsible for managing the procurement process by coordinating and fulfilling purchase requests from various worksites and departments. This role involves sourcing products and services, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing to meet organizational needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining efficient purchasing processes.
What you will be doing: - Purchase Request Management :
- Receive and review purchase requests from multiple worksites and departments.
- Verify the accuracy, completeness, and clarity of purchase requests.
- Sourcing and Procurement :
- Research and identify suitable suppliers for requested products and services.
- Obtain and evaluate quotes to ensure the best value in terms of quality, price, and delivery.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors as necessary.
- Order Placement :
- Create and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure orders are placed promptly and that delivery timelines align with operational needs.
- Supplier Relations :
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Address and resolve any issues related to orders, including delays, defects, or disputes.
- Inventory and Budgeting Support :
- Coordinate with inventory and finance teams to track purchases and expenditures.
- Ensure adherence to departmental budgets and cost-saving initiatives.
- Record Keeping and Reporting :
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier information.
- Provide regular updates and reports to management on purchasing activities.
- Compliance :
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards.
What you need to succeed: - Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software/tools.
- Professionalism and confidentiality
- Determined and reliable work ethic
You should also have: - HS Diploma/GED required.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age and pass a criminal background check.
- At least 1 year of experience in procurement, purchasing, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of Arizona marijuana laws and regulations or willingness to learn.
- Must maintain current knowledge and adhere to all policy and regulations of AZDHS, HIPAA, and Arizona State.
- Certification in procurement (e.g. CPP, CPSM) preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Ascending or descending ladders or stairs.
- Repetitive motion that may include wrists, hands, or fingers.
Hours : Full Time 40 hour/week, open availability, potential overtime opportunity

(ii) An offense involving conduct that would be immune from arrest, prosecution, or penalty under section 36-2811 except that the conduct occurred before the effective date of this chapter or was prosecuted by an authority other than the state of Arizona
