Job Description

Regional Manager 

 

As a leading US manufacturer of industrial-grade abrasives, United Abrasives, Inc. is seeking a driven, growth-focused individual to join our team. The successful candidate will develop and oversee the sales function for assigned regions. This position will lead, mentor and coach various Territory Representatives to develop sales plans, target new accounts and maximize sales. This position requires at least 50% travel in the field from our Connecticut based office. 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years field sales experience, preferably in an industrial setting and with end users
  • Proven success managing and supervising a geographically diverse sales team
  • Up-to-date knowledge on industrial distribution practices and trends
  • Demonstrated sales follow-up skills
  • Knowledge of welding, metal fabricating, woodworking and power tools helpful – will provide additional on-site training
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

 

Responsibilities:

  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to interface with all levels of an organization
  • Uncover new sales opportunities and nurture them into customers
  • Excellent presentation skills required
  • Manage and consistently update a CRM to track sales leads
  • Must have great time-territory management skills with the ability to travel approximately 50% of the time (access to transportation and a valid driver’s license required)
