JOB DESCRIPTION Apex is seeking a dynamic Senior Lead Consultant with strong consultative skills to serve as a hands-on technical leader with a background as a CI/CD Build Architect with extensive experience in .NET, Java, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Angular, TypeScript, Windows Server, Helm, and GitOps. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in build systems and container tools, with the ability to lead and manage CI/CD pipelines. This role involves coaching teams on best practices, creating and implementing CI/CD strategies, and ensuring the seamless integration of security and automation within the development lifecycle.
RESPONSIBILITIES Team Coaching and Leadership:
- Mentor and coach development teams on CI/CD best practices and methodologies.
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the teams.
Build Systems and Automation:
- Oversee the setup and management of build systems for .NET, Java, Angular, and TypeScript projects.
- Develop and maintain automated build and deployment processes using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitHub Actions.
- Implement and manage GitOps practices to ensure consistent and reliable deployments.
Containerization and Orchestration:
- Guide teams in the use of container tools and platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Ensure the security and scalability of containerized applications.
- Develop and implement strategies for container orchestration and management.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Provide expertise in IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Conduct regular reviews of IaC scripts to identify and mitigate security risks.
- Ensure infrastructure configurations are secure, scalable, and maintainable.
Security and Compliance:
- Integrate security checks and practices within CI/CD pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Develop and enforce security policies and best practices across the development lifecycle.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated with the latest CI/CD and DevOps trends and technologies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the overall development and deployment process.
JOB REQUIREMENTS - 10+ years of experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines across various stages of the software development lifecycle
- 2+ years' experience with .NET, Java, Angular, and TypeScript build systems.
- 3+ years' experience in GitOps using tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- 2+ years' experience with container tools and platforms like OpenShift, Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Proven experience in managing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of build systems and container tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with the latest CI/CD and DevOps trends and technologies.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring teams on CI/CD best practices.
- Windows Server experience is a bonus.High level of independence and autonomy required
- Positive relationship builder, able to navigate through complex situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solution.
- Strong problem solving skills, analytical skills and the aptitude to quickly identify gaps and risks.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including presenting complex concepts to engineering, business partners.
- BA/BS preferred in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (applicable education and experience may be substituted).
