JOB TITLE :
Senior Reservoir Engineer The position will provide in-depth reservoir simulation study, and software development support to Sinopec Tech Houston (STHC). Proactively scout, evaluate and recommend advanced and emerging technologies for research, development (R&D), and demonstration activities. Support, advise and execute Sinopec’s technical plans and projects. Track and assess market adoption and technical readiness levels of new technologies and capabilities in reservoir engineering , numerical simulation and fracturing technique. Provide technical support and advice for Sinopec advanced E&P and research projects in related fields.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Familiar with numerical simulation software and capable of developing numerical simulation software.
- Will Participate in the development of stress field simulation software, with a focus on integrating it with reservoir numerical simulation software.
- Familiar with machine learning algorithms and capable of optimizing processes related to reservoir engineering.
- Will be responsible for providing leading subject expertise in reservoir modeling, reservoir engineering and reservoir numerical simulation.
- Participate in the technical R&D work of the team and provide support for project execution.
- Write technical analysis reports and track the latest industry technology trends.
- Prepare clear and detailed technical reports and present them to the management.
- Participate in industry technical conferences as needed, expand and maintain industry networks in the technical field.
- Assist related teams in formulating new technology R&D plans and implementation schemes.
- Complete projects on time with high quality, within budget constraints.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: - Communicate technical data through preparation and presentation of clear, concise, and persuasive reports and presentations; effectively communicate with both management and technical team
- Strong and proven experience and knowledge in applications of reservoir development technologies, with a thorough knowledge to develop new technology to meet the Company’s strategic plans.
- Strong and proven programming skills in 1 or more of the following languages: C++, C, Python, Fortran etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and teamwork skills, accomplishment of high quality and high standard work.
- Must be a team player with good interpersonal communication skills, to lead by example and be an excellent role model for team.
- Must have project management skills and be able to prepare relevant proposals.
- Must have the ability to handle multi-projects seamlessly and professionally.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently while multi-tasking.
- High degree of integrity and self-discipline to complete objectives on time.
- Ability to persevere through complicated situations and be self-motivated.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, and EXPERIENCE: - M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Computing science, or related technical field is required, from an accredited university.
- Must have a minimum of 5+ year’s working experience in Petroleum Engineering and/or software development in the oil and gas industry.
- Must have proven experience in E&P of conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources.
- Must have project management experience working on high level projects.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
