Are you passionate about creating safe, sustainable, and compliant work environments? We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will identify local organizational EHS training needs and leverage your specialized skills and knowledge to develop and implement robust EHS programs and procedures. Your contributions will be critical in maintaining a safe workspace and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

 

Working under the general direction of the local EHS Manager or senior operations management, you will be responsible for conducting regular assessments and audits of our facilities to ensure adherence to safety standards. You will play a pivotal role in leading projects and initiatives, demonstrating your advanced theoretical concepts and technical expertise. Your keen eye for detail will help identify regulatory and best practice improvement opportunities, ensuring our operations are always at the forefront of EHS compliance.

 

As an EHS Specialist, you will develop performance measurement reports, track critical audits, permits, and activities, and generate timely reports for management. Your role will also involve participating in root cause analysis, monitoring corrective actions, maintaining OSHA logs, and collaborating with internal and external partners. Additionally, you will perform site inspections, manage hazardous material inventories, and support third-party certification processes.

What You Will Need:  

  • Bachelor of Science plus 4 years of EHS experience or 2 years of OMDP experience with 2 years of EHS experience or comparable military experience.
  • High school diploma or state-issued equivalency certificate plus 8 years of EHS experience or comparable military experience.
  • Skilled in developing clear written communications, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ability to present information effectively to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
  • Ability to source, read, understand, and interpret EHS regulations as published by government agencies.
  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What Will Set You Apart:  

  • Bachelor of Science degree (Accredited EHS Program) in Occupational Safety and Health plus 2 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possession of EHS related certifications (Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), Certified Hazardous Materials Manger (CHMM).
  • Experience working with mid-level management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
  • Experience responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Skilled in applying advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations and permutations.
  • Skilled in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Skilled in interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Compensation :

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $80,190.00 - $120,330.00 / Annually
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
