POSITION: UX Research Intern

LOCATION: Portland, Oregon

Jaguar Land Rover North America’s internship program is a great opportunity for college students entering their junior or senior year, or who are currently in a graduate school program, to gain hands-on experience in the exciting world of the automotive industry!  This is a great opportunity for personal growth and development from a business and learning perspective.

In this internship, you’ll work within our UX Research team to support our product squads in delivering intuitive experiences to our users and help us grow our UX Research practice. Our Portland team focuses on digital products, specializing in complex user experiences with cutting-edge technologies like autonomous driving, augmented reality, and off-board solutions. You'll gain exposure to Mobile Apps, UX Design, DevOps, DesignOps, Systems Engineering, Agile Delivery Management, and Software Delivery in a constantly evolving and complex environment.

Details of the program:

  • The program is open to students at a Graduate or Phd Program
  • The Internship runs from June 16th through August 2025
  • 40 hours per week during business hours (Business Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm)
  • Hybrid Schedule available
  • Paid internship -
    • $31/hour for students in a Master’s program
    • $37/hour for students pursuing PhD

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Plan and conduct UX research studies and deliver quality insights to inform product decisions
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and UX design, to ensure a cohesive and user-centered approach
  • Participate in UX research peer review meetings and other research team practices
  • Contribute to UX Research initiatives to help grow our practice
  • Perform other duties as required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Master’s or PhD degree in progress during FY 25/26  (April 2025 – March 2026)
  • Prior experience with, and a strong understanding of, user experience research, research methodology, human machine interaction, or a related field
  • Proficiencies in professional survey tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other research enabling tools
  • A passion for problem solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions, backed by strong interpersonal, organizational, and storytelling skills, and the confidence to champion new initiatives
  • Excellent collaboration, observational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills alongside the desire and ability to balance multiple perspectives 
  • Must be legally able to work in the United States at the time of application
