Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in database maintenance and administration, with a strong background in database architecture, performance tuning, and supporting software development in Java and/or ColdFusion. This role requires the ability to work independently, provide technical expertise, and collaborate effectively with development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform database maintenance tasks, including monitoring, tuning, backup, and recovery on both Linux and Windows platforms.
• Design, build, and maintain database structures, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
• Apply patches, manage upgrades, and install Oracle database versions.
• Write and maintain shell scripts and PL/SQL code for automation and database management.
• Collaborate with development teams to support the creation and maintenance of various database artifacts (e.g., tables, views, triggers, links).
• Analyze and optimize database queries for performance improvements.
• Ensure compliance with best practices for database security, availability, and disaster recovery.
• Effectively communicate technical requirements, solutions, and issues with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and configurations.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in database administration, including database maintenance, monitoring, and support.
• 5+ years of experience supporting software development, preferably in Java and/or ColdFusion.
• Strong understanding of database architecture, including both logical and physical design.
• Proven experience in designing and building new database structures.
• Hands-on experience with backup and recovery procedures.
• Proficiency in applying patches, performing upgrades, and managing database installations.
• Strong skills in writing and maintaining shell scripts and PL/SQL programming.
• Experience working closely with development teams to support the creation and maintenance of database objects.
• Expertise in query performance tuning and optimization.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver results on time.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Oracle Forms, Reports, and interfaces customizations.
• Proficiency with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters), Data Guard, and ASM (Automatic Storage Management).
• Familiarity with RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup and recovery.
• Experience with job scheduling tools such as Control-M and Batch Job deployment.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow for incident and change management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Visio for reporting and documentation.
• Oracle Database certification.
• Demonstrated ability to create and maintain technical documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.

Work Environment:

• The position will require collaboration with development teams, IT staff, and business stakeholders.
• Strong emphasis on both independent and team-oriented work.
• Occasional on-call support may be required.
