Introduction : Aspen Medical has an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses who specialize in Endoscopy, to partner with us in providing temporary contracted medical services to Military Treatment Facilities throughout the United States. Today’s posting will place you at the primary location of the Keesler Medical Center, Keesler AFB, Mississippi. Minimum Qualifications: - Degree : Associates Degree of Nursing.
- Education : Graduate from a college or university accredited by Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or as otherwise identified in the TO
- Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support : Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience : A minimum of four years of perioperating and/or gastroenterology nursing experience within previous 60 months is required
- Licensure : Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required in the TO
Core Duties: - Coordinate patient care in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals. Facilitate the achievement of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality and cost effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF
- Perform physical exam and health histories
- Provide health promotions, counseling, and education
- Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions
- Direct and supervise care provide by other healthcare professionals
- Accountable for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill level of assigned personnel
- Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
- Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization
- Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate
- Perform nursing services identified in the TO
- Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes
- Perform outpatient clinic functions such as telephone consults, lab callbacks, ordering of diagnostic studies and teaching colorectal screening classes
- Perform perioperative nursing for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures with the provisional use of moderate sedation as needed
Hours of Performance/Schedule: Hours of Performance/Schedule: The performance (duty) hours of the MTF are as follows: Duty hours will vary by position and location; however, typical duty hours are scheduled between 0700 -1700, Monday through Friday. Hours are subject to change and may include nights and weekends. In the event, the HCW is required to work beyond their scheduled duty hours for any reason, the duty hours will be adjusted within the current pay period; the HCWs shall not work more than 40 hours per week. The performance (duty) hours are as follows: Buckley Space Force Base, Monday through Friday, 0730-1630.

Physical Requirements: - Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for 6-8 hours per day
- Able to distinguish between basic colors
- Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers in stressful situations
- Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation and undergo urine drug testing
