BWXT’s Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking a Software Quality Professional for its Lynchburg, VA location!

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Conducts oversight of software program requests to ensure software adheres to principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Conducts software testing and validation to originator requirements.
  • Leads functional specification review meetings.
  • Ensures software design specifications meet functional specifications. 
  • Ensures consistent application of software quality procedures.
  • Ensures test plans meet all requirements and validates that no unintended consequences from software changes have occurred.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. A technical discipline is desired.
  • One or more years of technical work is preferred.
  • Must possess ability to read and understand technical documents.
  • Previous experience using common program languages (e.g. Visual Basic, C, C++).
  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills in order to successfully interact with application owners, developers, and managers.
  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities is required.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is required.
  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

 

Pay: $54,000- $88,000

 

The base salary range for this position in Virginia (US-VA) at the start of employment is expected to be between $54,000 and $88,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
